Best Rust Door Skins (2026): Sheet Metal, Garage, Double and Armored Doors With Dated Price Bands

The best Rust door skin for most bases is a $1–4 garage door — the Hazma Egg Garage Door at $2.27 with 160 sellers on 9 September 2026, or the Space Station Garage Door at $2.41 — because the garage door is the piece of your base every raider and neighbour actually looks at. For sheet metal doors the Stone Door ($1.50, 219 sellers) is the liquid pick and the Labyrinth Door ($11.03) the one that holds value; for double doors the Junkernaught ($3.82) leads; and the Neon Dragon Garage Door at $489.03 is the door that proves the item store can mint a collector's piece by accident.

Bands are Steam Community Market lowest sell orders observed on 9 September 2026 through the SCMM tracker; supply counts and store prices are the tracker's census the same day. On a cash marketplace with a 0% buyer fee — the Rust skins buy-and-sell sheet grades them — expect 25–35% under the Steam figure.

Garage doors

Hazma Egg Garage Door: $2.49 in the store on 9 April 2026; 27,558 copies; $2.27 with 160 sellers on 9 September 2026 — the most-listed garage door in the game.

The garage door is Rust's billboard, and its skin market is the deepest of any door: 188 tradable garage doors with a live price on the read date. The liquid picks, all with more than a hundred sellers:

  • Hazma Egg Garage Door — $2–2.50, 160 sellers, store $2.49 (April 2026). Restrained biohazard motif; the most-listed door in the game.
  • Space Station Garage Door — $2.25–2.75, 139 sellers, store $2.49 (January 2026).
  • Neon Lunar Serpent Garage Door — $2.75–3.25, 112 sellers, store $2.99 (January 2025). Loud, but the serpent reads at range.
  • Hazma (garage door) — $3.75–4.25, 111 sellers, store $2.49 (January 2026), 52,603 copies — the most-owned garage door on the census and still above its store price.
  • Dragon Horn Garage Door — $1.25–1.75, 108 sellers, store $3.49 (May 2021). Trades at under half its store price after five years; a lesson in what "common" means.
  • Cobalt Jungle Container Garage Door — $3–3.50, 85 sellers, store $2.49 (December 2025). Container livery that matches the Cobalt building set.

The mid-tier, where design plus age has produced a band that holds: Popstar Garage Door $11–12 (67 sellers, store $2.99, July 2025); Brutalist Garage Door $10–11 (74 sellers, store $3.99, October 2023); Bombshell Garage Door $8–9 (81 sellers, 2022); Dungeon Garage Door $7–7.50 (82 sellers, 2023); Going Deep Garage Door $8–9 (44 sellers, 2021). And the collectors' end: Cargo Truck Garage Door $15–17 (23 sellers, store $1.49 in March 2018, 2,143 copies), Chop Shop Garage Door $50–58 (14 sellers, store $1.49 in October 2017, 1,518 copies), and the Neon Dragon Garage Door at $450–520 with four sellers — a $3.49 store item from 8 February 2024 with 406 copies counted and an all-time high of $583.61 on 15 April 2025. It sits on the most expensive Rust skins sheet for that reason.

Sheet metal doors

Labyrinth Door: $1.49 in the store on 4 October 2018; 2,289 copies; $11.03 with 148 sellers on 9 September 2026 — and an $831.09 all-time-high median on 10 September 2023 that was a manipulation spike, not a price.

The sheet metal door is the base's workhorse and its skin market the broadest: 268 tradable designs with a live price on the read date. Picks by role:

  • Stone Door — $1.25–1.75, 219 sellers, store $2.49 (February 2023). The best-selling cheap door for a reason: it makes a metal door look like part of a stone wall, which is camouflage rather than decoration.
  • Glacial Visage Metal Door — $1–1.25, 158 sellers, store $3.49 (February 2021). Glowing, and priced like the 50,616 copies in circulation.
  • Labyrinth Door — $10.50–11.50, 148 sellers, store $1.49 (October 2018), 2,289 copies. The liquid mid-tier pick: old, low supply, many sellers. Its tracker history shows an $831.09 median on 10 September 2023 — a spike from a handful of trades, and a reminder that an all-time high is not a valuation.
  • Popstar Door — $5.50–6.25, 104 sellers, store $2.99 (April 2026); Hazma Sheet Metal Door — $5.50–6, 69 sellers, store $2.49 (March 2026). Both recent store items trading at about double their launch price, which is what a popular set does in its first six months.
  • Endgame Metal Door — $3.50–4, 52 sellers, store $2.99, accepted 20 August 2026 — three weeks before the read date and still under its seven-day lock for the newest buyers. The double-door version (Endgame Metal Double Door, $4.02) arrived a week later.
  • Brutalist Sheet Metal Door — $18–20, 36 sellers, store $3.99 (November 2023). The set that holds value best across all three door types.

Collector's end: Trophy Pirate Door $24–27 (10 sellers, 2018, 1,723 copies), Chinook Fuselage Door $20–22 (8 sellers, 2018), Submarine Door $16–19 (4 sellers, 2018). Under a dollar, the Toxic Wolf Door ($0.77, 14,658 copies), Adobe Door ($0.59) and Sheet Metal Sheet Metal Door ($0.63 — yes, that is its name) do the job for the price of Steam's fee on a bigger sale.

Sheet metal double doors

The double door is the loot-room door, and its skin market is the smallest of the three: 60 tradable designs with a live price. The picks are almost all 2024–2026 store items in the $3–6 band, because the type barely had skins before then.

  • Junkernaught Sheet Metal Double Door — $3.50–4.25, 126 sellers, store $2.49 (January 2026). The most-listed double door.
  • Tempered Sheet Metal Double Door — $5–6, 94 sellers, store $2.99 (June 2024). Matches the Tempered line's newer pieces (not its 2016 AK).
  • Endgame Metal Double Door — $3.75–4.25, 93 sellers, store $2.99, accepted 27 August 2026.
  • Gothic Veil Double Door — $3–3.25, 92 sellers, store $2.49 (April 2026); Shadowborn Metal Double Door — $5–5.50, 82 sellers, store $2.99 (May 2024).
  • Neon Pumpkin Metal Double Door — $7–8, 73 sellers, store $2.99 (October 2021), 39,216 copies.

Two old doors carry the type's collector premium: Howling Double Door $40–47 (8 sellers, store $1.99 in October 2019, 5,223 copies) and Double Door from Hell $38–43 (16 sellers, store $4.99, same rotation). Mid-tier that holds: Bombshell ($14–15, 55 sellers), Cobalt Container ($13–15, 30 sellers), Protector ($11–12).

Armored doors

Armored door skins are cheap because armored doors are rare on most bases — 71 tradable designs with a live price, and the liquid picks all under $4: Space Base Armored Door $2.75–3 (150 sellers, store $2.49, January 2026), Hazma Armored Door $2.75–3 (134 sellers, July 2026), Popstar Armored Door $3.50–3.75 (124 sellers, July 2026), Tempered Armored Door $2.50–2.75 (63 sellers). The exceptions are four 2016 doors from the earliest store rotations — Incarceration Armored Door $115–135 (10 sellers, 384 copies), High Voltage $55–62 (9 sellers, 252 copies), Corroded Bronze Door $34–39 (10 sellers, store $14.99, 160 copies) and Laboratory Armored Door $27–31 (8 sellers, 151 copies). Those are the doors whose supply was fixed when the game had a fraction of today's players.

What not to buy as a door skin

Four garage doors, three sheet metal doors and four double doors on the tracker are permanent-store items — Facepunch's Factory Door among them — and cannot be traded or sold; 46 garage doors and 21 sheet metal doors are Twitch or event drops with the same restriction. They show in the same store interface as the tradable ones. Read the tags before paying, and treat any marketplace listing of a permanent or drop door as an error. The item store explainer covers which category a store item falls into and why the seven-day lock applies to the rest.

Buying a matched set for under $10

On the read date a Hazma set — Hazma garage door ($3.96), Hazma Sheet Metal Door ($5.81), Hazma Armored Door ($2.89) — ran about $12.66 on Steam; a Popstar set (garage $11.45, sheet metal $5.93, armored $3.55) about $20.93; an Endgame set (garage door about $3.28 on Steam's own search, metal door $3.80, double door $4.02) about $11.10; and a Space set (Space Station garage $2.41, Space Base armored $2.81, Stone Door $1.50) under $7. Buy whichever set is in the current Thursday rotation from the store at $2.49–$2.99 a piece with no fee, and the rest on a marketplace with a 0% buyer fee. The best Rust skins by item sheet has the boxes and clothing to finish the base.
