Best SAR Skins in Rust (Oct 2026): What Sells, What Holds Value, What Costs Under $1

Pinned Oct 26, 2026

The best SAR skin in Rust, judged by what players actually buy, is the Heat Seeker SAR: 427 sales on Skinport in the 90 days to 18 October 2026, more than twice any other Semi-Automatic Rifle skin, at a $4.61 median. The one that holds the most value is the Glory SAR, with a $16.43 median over the same 90 days. And the best for the money is almost anything else: 111 of the 161 SAR skins that sold in that period had a median sale under $1. On 26 October 2026 the order was unchanged: the Heat Seeker had 414 sales over 90 days at a $4.38 median and the Glory SAR a $14.99 median, so read the figures below as the 18 October snapshot.

That is the whole SAR market in three lines. It is cheap, it is deep, and a handful of skins carry nearly all the value. Below are the dated numbers behind each pick, pulled from Skinport's open API on the morning of 18 October 2026. We rank by sales and price, not by taste: what a skin looks like on your rifle is your call, and the numbers only tell you what it will cost and how easily it sells again.

Glory SAR, $14–22. The top of the SAR sheet; it shares its name with the Glory AK47 on our most expensive Rust skins list. Its 30-day median was $14.10 and its last seven days $19.00, with only four listed at $21.60 or more. Thin supply, steady buyers: pay near the median, not the ask.

Imp SAR, $10–13. The best-supplied of the top three, with 19 listed from $10.67 and 82 sales in 90 days. If you want a SAR that will still be worth about ten dollars next month, this is the safest bet on the sheet, because a cheap listing sits under its own median.

Comics SAR, $8–14. Popular but over-asked on the read date: the cheapest of five listings was $13.86 while 25 sales in 30 days had an $8.44 median. Wait for a seller who prices to the market.

The SAR skins people actually buy

Heat Seeker SAR, $3.50–5. The volume leader by a distance: 134 sales in 30 days, 427 in 90, and 115 copies listed from $4.93. That depth is why it is the safest SAR to buy and sell again, and its slide from a $4.61 90-day median to $3.59 over 30 days says the price is still settling.

HellCore SAR, $2.50–4. Second on 30-day sales with 58, at a $2.49 median, while its seven listings started at $7.60. It is another case where the asks have not caught up with the sales; offer near $2.50.

Tribal Alloy SAR, $1.50–2.50. 201 sales in 90 days and 34 listed from $1.53, below its own 90-day median of $2.48. For a two-dollar rifle skin with a real market behind it, this is the pick on the read date. Popstar SAR ($2.02 ask, 72 sales in 90 days), Redemption SAR ($1.64, 70) and Blackout SAR ($2.08, 61) form the rest of the busy two-dollar shelf.

Most SAR skins cost less than a dollar

Skinport listed 163 different SAR skins on 18 October, 3,294 copies in total, and 161 of them had sold at least once in 90 days. Two thirds of those sold at a median under a dollar, and 121 had a cheapest ask under a dollar, the lowest at $0.50. In practice that means the SAR is the cheapest weapon in the game to skin well: pick the look you like from the sub-dollar shelf and you are unlikely to overpay by more than a few cents.

It also means a SAR skin is rarely an investment. Only three cleared a $10 median. The best AK skins sheet shows the same shape at higher prices; on the SAR the whole curve sits lower.

Under a dollar, with a market behind it

A sub-dollar skin is only a bargain if someone will take it off you later, so this shelf is sorted by sales, not price. Dominus Mortis SAR had the deepest supply, 72 listed from $0.52, and 35 sales in 90 days at a $0.64 median. OPS SAR had more copies still, 91 listed from $0.99, with 36 sales at $1.18. Pirate SAR (44 listed from $0.75, 36 sales at $0.93), SAR from Hell (24 from $0.93, 31 sales at $0.88) and Sarnana (14 from $0.87, 25 sales at $0.92) fill out the list. Porcelain SAR at $0.68 and Playmaker SAR at $0.55 sold 23 and 19 times.

Any of those is a fair buy at the ask, because each ask sits within a few cents of what the skin has sold for. The risk on this shelf is not overpaying; it is fees. On a fifty-cent item a flat or minimum charge eats a big slice of the price, so buy several at once rather than one at a time.

How to read these numbers

Every figure on this page comes from one source on one morning: the Skinport API on 18 October 2026. The lowest ask is the cheapest listing at that moment. The medians are the middle price of completed sales over 7, 30 or 90 days, and the 90-day figure is the steadiest guide on a thin item. When an ask sits far above its median, as with the Comics, HellCore and Sublime SARs here, the median is the better offer. When the 30-day median is well below the 90-day one, as with the Heat Seeker, the price is falling.

Edge cases

  • Sublime SAR's ask doesn't match its sales. The cheapest listing was $3.19, while six sales in 30 days had a $12.92 median. A mispriced listing, a different item state or a falling price could explain it; check the listing before you buy, and don't price your own copy from that ask.
  • Two names, one gun. Some skins use the full name: the Hazard Semi Auto Rifle and the Saboteur Rifle are SAR skins listed without the abbreviation. Search both ways.
  • One market, one morning. These are Skinport's figures. Steam Market prices include Steam's fees and pay out only to a Steam Wallet, so the same skin will show a different number there.
  • No crate or gamble route. This sheet never covers case-opening or skin-betting sites. Buy the skin you want or skip it.

Where to buy SAR skins

For sub-dollar skins, fees matter more than the price, so buy several at once on one market. For the top three, compare at least two markets and offer near the 90-day median. Markets with Rust listings: Skinport, DMarket, SkinBaron and Lis-Skins for cash, and Tradeit, SkinSwap and Swap.gg for trades. Some links pay this sheet a commission; none changes a number above. The fee table for each is on the buy Rust skins sheet, and other weapons and items are ranked on best Rust skins.
